Most of the paths (except roads) are unmarked. Before taking a cycling
trip plan your route carefully and ask for information about its
characteristics in the nearest bike centre or a tourist agency (the
type of the ground, ascents, descents, length etc). You should also note down the telephone number of a local taxi driver who would be willing to fetch you in case of any problems. According to your possibilities hire a guide or a GPS unit with the marked;
Attention! There are many dead ends and impassable paths on the island of Brac (leading to the fields or the areas for cutting wood);
Always take enough water with you, proper tools, a pump, a flashlight, a helmet and a mobile phone (with the full battery!!!);
If you are cycling off the main roads, don't be alone;
On your routes pay attention to fences
(made by shepherds to keep the cattle within the certain area). You are
ailowed to open them but you must not forget to close them. They are
sometimes difficult to notice because of the thin wire construction!!!
